This is the personal web site of Jamie Lokier

Responding to the plans for house arrest of "suspected terrorists" without trial nor presentation of evidence, Terry Waite (who spent nearly 5 years as a hostage in Beirut), said:
"I myself stand absolutely against terrorism. It is a curse of our age and it is, to my mind, dreadful that those in positions of authority who would claim to fight terrorism refuse to examine the roots and to ask the question: `Why do people behave as they behave?' These questions are ignored, and the easy answer is, given as we shall be seeing tomorrow in the debate, to restrict liberty and restrict freedom."
